Step 1.
Whether it’s an important animal or a special person you would like me to draw or paint, please email me at LucyBerryStudioArt@gmail.com. In your email you can let me know what you have in mind, along with a photo that you would like me to reference from for your commission. For the best results, I would suggest using a photo that is clear and has good quality, natural lighting. I can help you with this if you are unsure.
Step 2.
Once you have sent me an email, I will get back to you as soon as possible. In my return email I will discuss the different mediums I offer commissions in (Professional Artist prisma-colour pencils, Graphite Pencils and oil paints) and what one would work best for your commission. I will also list all of the different sizes I offer along with prices and framing options.
Step 3.
Once we have discussed what medium, size and potential framing option you would like and are happy for me to go ahead and start your commission, I will then kindly ask for a 50% deposit to secure your commission.
Step 4.
As soon as the deposit has been transferred, I will then start your commission! I will keep you updated along the way with progress pictures so that you can see how it is coming along and if you would like any adjustments made.
Step 5.
Once your commission is complete, I will sign it and spray it with a fixative spray if it is a drawing, or varnish it if you have chosen a painting. Both a spray and varnish work in the same way by leaving a protective layer over the artwork to help prevent sun damage and to increase the vibrancy of the colours. If taken care of properly, both a drawing and painting can last decades.
Step 6.
Next, I will send you a photo of the final result! If you are happy with your commission and require no further adjustments, the remaining 50% will need to be paid before you either collect your drawing in person or I have it shipped safely to you. If you are local you are welcome to come and hand collect your drawing from me in my studio. If you are further away, you will receive your commission by post. If this is the case, pricing for packaging and postage will be included in the remaining 50%.
Step 7.
When you open your commission you will also find that you receive a Certificate of Authenticity, a personal Thank you card and the invoice! Now you can display your own custom piece of art with pride in your home.
